John
J. Zamora
Chairman/Chief Executive Officer
John
began his career at graphic press in 1967 as a pressman. After
he honed his skills on the presses, John moved into production,
and finally into sales. He rose through the ranks to Vice President
of Sales before graphic press was acquired in 1981. John then
joined the sales force of George Rice & Sons. There he earned
top salesman honors for sixteen years in a row. He assumed the
role of Executive Vice President, Sales in 1993. John continued
his work at George Rice & Sons during its acquisition by World
Color and then by Quebecor until early this year when he realized
his vision and re-opened graphic press.
Jim
Cooper
President
Like John, Jim also began his career in printing on the pressroom
floor. He took his first job in the printing industry at Peninsula
Litho in Menlo Park, California in 1964 and worked his way up,
learning about and then mastering all areas of manufacturing.
He left the company as the Plant Manager in 1981. Jim then joined
George Rice & Sons as Vice President of Manufacturing. In 1985
he was made a Partner. After the sale of George Rice & Sons to
World Color in 1994, Jim embarked on a career as a consultant,
working with printing companies across the country until early
this year, when Jim joined graphic press as President.
Dennis
Kiggins
Vice President of Manufacturing
Dennis began his printing industry experience in 1975 at Glundal
Color in Syracuse, N.Y. as a scanner operator. He began his work
at graphic press in 1979 in that capacity and left in 1981 as
Color Department Manager. Dennis then joined Gore Graphics as
Vice President of Color & Prepress. After 13 years with Gore Graphics,
he moved to Graphic Center in Sacramento as Vice President of
Pre-press. In 1996 Dennis joined George Rice & Sons and served
as Vice President of Color & Pre-press until he joined graphic
press in the spring of 2000.
Dirk Eldredge
Vice President of Sales
Dirk
had his first taste of the printing industry when he worked as
a floor help at George Rice & Sons during his high school years.
He then went on to the University of Southern California, where
he earned his degree in Political Science. In 1986, after four
years in sales for IBM, Dirk returned to the printing industry
as a sales associate at George Rice & Sons. Dirk then joined Lithographix
in 1995, where he served as one of the industry’s top sales representatives
until joining graphic press this year.
Paul
Kowal
Vice President of Finance
Mr.
Kowal has a broad base of senior management experience in a wide
variety of manufacturing and distribution enterprises that spans
over 25 years. He held various financial mangement positions at
Saffola Foods and Weldmatic Corp. before coming to Friedman Bag,
a $45 million multi-state, family-owned company, where he served
as the Controller and Chief Financial Officer for three and one-half
years. At Friedman Bag, he was responsible for all financial and
treasurer management activities of the company. Mr. Kowal joined
graphic press as Vice President of Finance in July, 2000.
George
Mathews
Director of Operations
George
began his career in 1974 working as a pressman in New York at
Kordet Graphic. In 1981 George came to California for a vacation
and never returned. He then joined George Rice & Sons as a pressman.
After 5 years of pressman work, he served as Pressroom Foreman.
George then went on to work alongside John Zamora and has worked
with him ever since. George joined graphic press this year as
Director of Operations. George’s extensive knowledge of the mechanics
of the pressroom enable him to skillfully set up challenging jobs,
simultaneously optimizing quality and cost effectiveness. >>
