History

graphic press is a young company with a 40-year-old legacy.

Throughout the 1960’s, 70’s and early 80’s, graphic press was regarded as the standard bearer for high-end commercial printing in Southern California.

They earned their reputation as an industry leader by pairing talented people with state-of-the-art equipment. The company was staffed with like-minded individuals in manufacturing, production, management and sales who were dedicated to producing high quality work at a competitive price. The plant was equipped with cutting-edge machinery in the areas of pre-press, sheetfed and web printing, along with state-of-the-art bindery equipment.

graphic press focused on showcase work like annual reports and automotive brochures and soon earned a reputation as the proving ground for the best and the brightest in the printing industry. Unfortunately, during the merger and acquisition frenzy of the 1980’s, graphic press was acquired by a publishing house and disbanded.

Fast-forward to 1999.

A group of like-minded individuals—who excelled in the areas of manufacturing, production management and sales—found themselves with a common vision. They wanted to create a company that consistently produces high quality work in an environment that is committed to raising the bar by hiring the best and the brightest people and providing them with state of the art equipment.

They wanted to come up with a name that would epitomize the experience they envisioned—a name that would communicate that desire to raise the bar. Philosophically, they wanted to recapture the experience they had, early in their careers, at graphic press.

The founders of the original graphic press gave them their name and their blessing.

In 2000, graphic press was re-born.
